2025 was a turbulent, frustrating, grim year for many of us. I know many of you out there have told me that you were having trouble getting into the holiday spirit this year, and that’s certainly understandable. But while last year I encouraged you to find any joy during these bleak times, this year I am changing my tune (pun intended): I am challenging you to be defiantly merry and joyful this year. They can beat us down, but we will not give in. Don’t let them take your holiday cheer from you! Let’s make Christmas merry again!

I have a lot of people who may be visiting my website for the first time this year. I have been doing these holiday albums for over 20 years now, with this being the 22nd album. My iTunes… I mean Apple Music… library has close to 6,000 different holiday songs in it and grows larger every year (though in the new era of music subscriptions, that probably doesn’t sound as impressive). You can read the Background Story from the link in the sidebar (or from the menu if you’re on a mobile device). You can also listen to or download any of the previous years’ albums by choosing the year from the menu.

My goal in doing this is to provide you with some merriment during this season. It’s my musical Christmas card to you. While last year’s album started a bit solemn, I promise that this year’s mix starts upbeat and fun. I hope that everyone finds at least a song or two that gets their snow globe shaking. I try to choose songs you won’t hear on the radio and/or new, fresh takes on the classic songs. The first track is a combination Christmas and Hanukkah song if that gives you any idea of what you’re in store for.

Daryl has been my rock in supporting me in doing this (almost) every year. He has to play lab rat while I test out hundreds of songs on him, yet he never complains (though he’s probably happy he travels for work during the week). We stopped sending physical holiday cards a few years back, so please consider this a message of love, peace, hope, and acceptance from both of us. No matter who you are, what your traditions are, or what you believe, we wish you a defiantly merry Christmas and happy holidays. You do you, and we love you for it.

(Thank you once again to David Green, who puts together the website for me. This year, he went above and beyond by getting it better optimized for mobile devices.)
